Shubman Gill said in the press conference after the end of the day’s play, ‘This is definitely one of my best innings in Test cricket. In practice before this match, just to be able to get back into that mindset and try to replicate the way the spinners play.

Kiwi spinner is confident of the pitch and made a big statement regarding the deteriorating wicket of Wankhede, it is a matter of concern for the Indian batsmen…

Indian players surprised by the slow bounce on Mumbai pitch, came to bat at number 10 for the first time in Test, target of 150…

‘It is challenging for India to achieve the target of around 150 runs’
New Zealand, which won the three-match series by winning the first two matches, has scored 171 runs for 9 wickets in its second innings till the end of the second day’s play. And he/she has achieved a lead of 143 runs. Earlier, in reply to New Zealand’s 235 runs, India had scored 263 runs in its first innings and took a lead of 28 runs. The pitch of Wankhede Stadium is helping the spinners and in such a situation, it will be challenging for India to achieve the target of around 150 runs. If India wants to avoid a clean sweep, its batsmen will have to show restrained aggression.

‘I was trying to enjoy the game’
According to Shubhman Gill, ‘The conversation with the coach was just about reiterating how to play the spinners well.’ At the beginning of the second day, Gill gave importance to a clear mindset while batting under pressure and said, ‘I was trying to enjoy the game. I like batting and I was thinking of going there and batting for a long time. I was not trying to put too much pressure on myself thinking that I had to score so many runs. I was trying to enjoy the game on the field, even though it was difficult. Because you don’t get to play so many test matches.
