Mobile phone users in Germany had to face the problem of not receiving calls on Thursday. In local media reports, it has been described as the result of a technical fault in the network. Quoting the report of online news magazine Focus Online, ANI has informed that mobile phone service providers faced this problem on Thursday afternoon.
Because of this, thousands of people had trouble making calls. Allestoerungen.de, a portal that records problems with telecom networks, also noted an increase in calls being reported during the Thursday afternoon hours. Telecom provider O2 also said on its website that service on our mobile and fixed telephone networks may be disrupted at the moment.
German newspaper Bild also reported on Thursday that thousands of Germans experienced disruption on the networks of almost all operators across the country. People have complained about the inability to make phone calls. The Sputnik news agency, citing the German newspaper, said that from 14:00 GMT there were continuous reports of network failure.
Hamburg police later also said that emergency phone calls may also be unavailable due to network failures. In such a situation, the police tried to solve the problem by increasing the number of officers patrolling the streets of the city.
O2 said on Twitter that calls on our network are currently potentially disrupted. This has affected calls on 2G and 4G mobile networks as well as landline networks. The company said it is currently working to restore network functionality.
