Gas cylinder, petrol bomb… the aim was to blow up the entire train in Kanpur! NIA will investigate the terrorist conspiracy

New Delhi : The way an attempt was made to derail the Kalindi Express on Sunday night in Kanpur district of Uttar Pradesh by placing petrol bombs made from LPG cylinders and bottles on the track. The railway has taken this incident very seriously. The railway says that looking at the circumstances of the spot, it seems that a big conspiracy was hatched behind this. In which this matter was not limited to only derailing the train, but the nefarious intention of those who did this was to explode the train. This does not seem to be a normal incident but an incident of terror attack. Due to the suspicion of the involvement of a terrorist organization in the case, the NIA has also started investigating it. A team of NIA also visited the spot.

A proper cylinder was placed on the railway track

NIA sources said that prima facie the case does not seem normal. In which someone is trying to derail the train by placing a big piece of wood or stone on the track. It seems that the train was derailed by placing a cylinder on the track and then exploding it. Also, the finding of a bottle filled with petrol and matchsticks at the spot is giving more strength to the fact that a big conspiracy was hatched behind this. This may not be the handiwork of one person but may also be an attempt to carry out a terror attack. It is very important to get to the bottom of this. This is the reason why NIA is cooperating with UP ATS and RPF in investigating this case.

A series of meetings went on throughout the day in the Railway Ministry

In view of the seriousness of the matter, a series of meetings continued throughout the day on Monday in the Railway Ministry. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav himself is keeping an eye on the entire incident. Railway officials say that the way a cooking gas cylinder was placed on the railway track a short distance before Bilhaur railway station in front of the Kalindi Express going from Prayagraj to Bhiwani at 8:20 pm on Sunday night in Kanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, it is clear that this was done in a planned manner. In which there was a conspiracy to derail the train as well as explode it. This could have caused loss of life and property on a large scale. It was fortunate that the train driver applied emergency brakes.

UP STF is investigating

Railways says that Uttar Pradesh GRP and STF are investigating the case. But since the case is very serious, RPF is also investigating it at its own level. While NIA is cooperating in the investigation by looking at the entire incident as a terrorist attack. Railways says that in the past few days, in some part of the country, attempts were made to derail trains by placing stones, large pieces of wood and other objects on the railway tracks. This case is different from all those cases. Therefore, its investigation is necessary. So that it can be found out that there is someone who is trying to cause huge losses to the railways by hatching a conspiracy.

There will be a big challenge in foggy days

Visibility on railway lines is still good. It decreases only during rains. But in the coming days when the fog season will start, then it will be a big challenge for the railways to keep a watch on the railway lines. For this, the railways will have to make proper arrangements for patrolling the railway tracks, considering it an emergency situation. Otherwise, the way attempts are being made to derail trains by placing something or the other on the tracks every day, such incidents during fog can lead to a major accident. However, the railways say that it is not possible to deploy soldiers everywhere on its nearly 67 thousand kilometer long railway track spread across the country. But it has instructed all its passenger trains and goods train running loco pilots to be extra alert while driving the trains. Gangmen and linemen, including those doing any kind of work related to the railways, should also keep monitoring the railway tracks. As soon as any problem is found, inform the control room.
