Actually, this is not a song or bhajan but the matter of Mahatma Gandhi’s letter written while answering the question of Sardar Patel’s daughter Maniben Patel. Maniben had asked Mahatma Gandhi questions about God such as where does God live, what does he/she look like and how can he/she be found? Bapu also wrote a letter answering these questions.

When musician Vasant Desai received Gandhiji’s letter

This letter was received by Gandhi Sentry Committee Chairman Madhukar Rao Choudhary and he/she asked musician Vasant Desai, associated with the Cultural Department of Maharashtra Government, to convert the things written in the letter into a song. When this song was recorded, the government distributed copies of it but the cassettes did not sell much and mostly amateurs bought it. However, this song of Manna Dey is an important part of music and history today.
