Did not meet Sonia Gandhi for 10 years

I was not given a single opportunity, except once, to spend time with Rahul Gandhi.

Dependence on Wayanad MP

Mani Shankar Iyer said that I could not meet Priyanka except once or twice. he/she said that Priyanka Gandhi has called him/her occasionally, due to which contact has been maintained to some extent. Recalling a particular incident, Iyer said he/she had to depend on the Wayanad MP to wish Rahul Gandhi on his/her birthday when he/she was suspended from the party.

I am suspended…can’t talk

he/she said that I met her (Priyanka Gandhi) and she has always been very kind to me. I thought that since Rahul’s birthday was in June, I could ask him/her to convey my best wishes to Rahul. According to Iyer, when Priyanka Gandhi asked why he/she was not talking to Rahul Gandhi himself, he/she replied that I am suspended and hence I cannot talk to my leader.

The senior leader said he/she had written a letter to Rahul Gandhi – a gesture that began with birthday wishes but also sought clarity on his/her suspension, but the letter remained unanswered.
