Front against staff acquisition of private aided colleges – Presswire18

Chandigarh, 18 November (Trinew)

Aided private colleges of Haryana have opened a front against the government. The Education Department is busy preparing for the acquisition of teaching and non-teaching staff, due to which there is anger among the managers of private colleges.

Now the members of the association are demanding that Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar should talk to the college managers in this regard and become aware of the challenges being faced by them and withdraw this decision. In the same sequence, on Saturday, the apex association of private aided colleges in the state – Welfare Association of the Management of Private Aided Colleges held a press conference. Association President Chaudhary Tejveer Singh (former MLA) said that all these colleges are the backbone of the Haryana education system. Of the total 97 government aided colleges, most of them are more than 50 years old.

According to him, these aided colleges were established under various educational societies and trusts. Following his principles, these colleges are providing better education than government colleges. Clarifying their stand, the association said that they oppose the government’s proposal to take over the permanent teaching and non-teaching staff of 97 aided degree colleges of Haryana. At present, more than two lakh students are getting education in these 97 colleges, who will be deprived of the experiences of these highly qualified and experienced teachers, due to which the standard of education will go down. Chaudhary Tejveer said that this proposed step of the government is against its duty policies of ‘Beti Padhao – Beti Bachao, ‘Haryana One – Haryanvi One’ and ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’. On the contrary, most of these 97 aided colleges established over the last fifty years are helping the state government in raising the level of education.
