At the age of 11, Mahatma Gandhi took admission in ‘Alfred High School’, Rajkot. he/she was an average student in studies. he/she was not much interested in sports either. However, he/she was more fond of books and the education he/she received in school.

Mahatma Gandhi passed high school from a school in Ahmedabad in November 1887 at the age of 18. Then in 1888, he/she took admission in Samaldas College, Bhavnagar, but then he/she left his/her studies midway. However, at that time everyone was studying to be a lawyer and Gandhiji also decided to become a lawyer. Mahatma Gandhi was advised to study law in London. After this he/she left for England on September 4, 1888.

On reaching England, he/she took admission in the famous University College London. After obtaining his/her law degree here, he/she also enrolled at the Inns of Court School of Law at the Inner Temple with the intention of becoming a barrister. In 1891 he/she qualified as a barrister. However, he/she chose to come to India instead of practicing in England. After coming to India, he/she started practicing in Rajkot. After this he/she went to South Africa to work as a barrister.
