From the national president to the new faces in the cabinet, new leaders can shine in BJP this year.

New Delhi: There are preparations for major changes in the Bharatiya Janata Party. Along with the election of the new president, there will be organizational changes in many states. The cabinet at the Center is also expected to be expanded. The party is linking this change with the development of the country. The tenure of BJP President JP Nadda is ending in January. With this the process of electing a new president has started.

BJP prepares for presidential election

Returning officers have been appointed for the election of new state presidents in 29 states. In the states where the membership campaign has been completed, new district presidents are being appointed. After the election of state presidents, the election of the national president will be held. According to party sources, this entire process will be completed by the end of January and the party will get a new president by the end of January or beginning of February.

New teams will be formed at every level

With the arrival of the new president, a new team of officials will also be formed, which will provide opportunities to new leaders. From divisional level to national level, changes will be seen in the entire organization. This will be the biggest change in the party in the last few years. BJP leaders believe that being in the government at the Center for the third consecutive time, it is necessary to infuse new energy into the organization to maintain its leading position.

Organizational reshuffle a part of BJP’s strategy

Organizational reshuffle is a part of BJP’s strategy. Regional leaders are given a lot of importance in the party and many state level leaders have been promoted to the national level. The biggest example of this is Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was the Chief Minister of Gujarat for the longest period. Modi was the first BJP Chief Minister to join the BJP Parliamentary Board and the party’s Central Election Committee. Later, former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and current Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan also became a part of the Parliamentary Board and CEC.

These leaders can get big responsibility

Over the past few years, the party has initiated the process of promoting new leadership in the states. There are many young and ambitious leaders who are currently leading the states and will play an important role in the party’s strategy and future planning.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami, former Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Goa Chief Minister Pramod Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma are leading important states. These leaders form the second tier of leadership in BJP and are getting ready to assume important responsibilities in the future. The progress and expansion of BJP will depend on the performance of these leaders in their respective states.

Possibility of reshuffle in Modi cabinet

Shortly before the Bihar elections, there is a possibility of a cabinet reshuffle of the Modi government. Some leaders from Bihar and other states may get a place in the cabinet. This reshuffle will be an attempt to include new talent in governance. The search for talent inside and outside the party has resulted in some successful experiments in the Cabinet in the past. Union ministers Ashwini Vaishnav and S Jaishankar are some examples of this. Some current leaders will be freed from the government to devote more time to party work.

BJP is working to create balance between government and organization

BJP is working to create the right balance of leaders in both the government and the party. While the government is working with the larger goal of a ‘developed India’, the party is strengthening itself to remain relevant to the people of the country even after 15 years at the Centre. After the ongoing success in the Maharashtra and Haryana assembly elections, performance has been the norm for the BJP and the party is not afraid of experimenting.

BJP wants to bring youth into politics

In his/her public meetings, Modi has been saying that his/her aim is to bring one lakh youth into politics who do not belong to any political family. On January 11 and 12, the government is organizing a ‘Development India Youth Leaders Dialogue’ in Delhi, in which Modi will participate. Young leaders from different parts of the country will present before the Prime Minister their views about India and their contribution to nation building. The primary objective of this dialogue is to identify talents who can join politics.

This is not BJP’s program

This is not a BJP party event and anyone attending will not be asked to join BJP as they are free to follow their political beliefs. But in this new leadership campaign, BJP being the largest party will have more advantage than other political parties. The BJP system allows the entry of new ideas and new leaders, unlike other political parties with complex structures, where the struggle for a place is comparatively tougher.

The BJP has cleverly linked this period of change with the country’s transformational phase, capturing the imagination of those who want to see a developed India. BJP leaders, while talking less about the party, reiterate the point of making the goal of a developed India their mission. In the end, it all works out in favor of the party. BJP sets an example by promoting new leadership and keeping its workers united. How far the party has gone in its quest for leadership and experimentation will be assessed in 2025.
