Video of conversation between Indian players and PM released World champion players met the PM

New Delhi. The Indian team led by Rohit Sharma has returned home after becoming the world champion. The players of Team India were given a grand welcome on their return from Barbados. After meeting PM Narendra Modi in Delhi, a victory parade was held in Mumbai. During this, the players looked very happy. The players were seen dancing a lot in the felicitation ceremony held at the Wankhede Stadium. The video of the conversation between the PM and the players was released a day later. The Prime Minister also asked Rohit about eating the soil of the pitch and also wanted to know about Surya’s match winning catch.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the first to congratulate the players at his/her residence. The PM said that you people have made the country proud. The PM said, ‘Normally, I work till late, but that day (the day of the final match) the TV was on and I was also finishing file work, so it was difficult to concentrate. You showed great team spirit and talent. What I saw was patience in you people. I could see the confidence in you people and I congratulate all of you for the victory.

Team India’s outgoing head coach Rahul Dravid was the first to speak during the interaction. he/she thanked Prime Minister Modi for his/her support, specifically pointing out how the Prime Minister met the team after the 2023 World Cup final in Ahmedabad. Dravid said, ‘First of all, I want to thank you for giving us the opportunity to meet us. You came there when we lost in Ahmedabad in November (last year), when it was difficult for us, and we are happy that we have been able to meet you today on such a happy occasion.’
