From Rinku Singh to Sanju Samson, 5 players ignored for Duleep Trophy, did not get a place in even one of the 4 teams

New Delhi. The 2024-25 season of Indian cricket is going to start in September. Indian cricketers will start the season with the Duleep Trophy matches. BCCI has announced 4 teams for the Duleep Trophy. Players like KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Shubman Gill, Kuldeep Yadav have been given place in these teams. Many young faces have also been included in the team. But the names of 5 such players like Rinku Singh, Sanju Samson, who have recently been members of Team India, are not in it.

BCCI has announced four teams A, B, C, D for Duleep Trophy. Shubman Gill, Rituraj Gaikwad, Shreyas Iyer and Abhimanyu will captain different teams. Each team has at least 15 members. That is, a total of 60 players. But the names of Sanju Samson, Rinku Singh, Prithvi Shaw, Ravi Bishnoi and Abhishek Sharma are not in any team. BCCI has not given the reason for not selecting any player whether they are injured or out for some other reason.

Rinku Singh made his/her debut for India in 2023. Whatever opportunities he/she got in Team India, he/she lived up to the expectations. Despite good performance, Rinku Singh did not get a place in the Indian team for the T20 World Cup. However, he/she returned to Team India against Zimbabwe and performed well.

Sanju Samson has been playing for the Indian team for a long time. Sanju was also included in the Indian team that won the T20 World Cup. This player, who has been in and out of Team India, has not got a place in the Duleep Trophy teams either. Like Sanju Samson, Prithvi Shaw is also out of these teams. Prithvi is currently playing county cricket in England. Keeping leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi out of the team is also a shocking decision, who was once the world’s number one spinner. Cricket lovers must have been shocked to see the name of Abhishek Sharma, who scored a century on the Zimbabwe tour.
