From Ram Mandir to the path of development, PM Modi’s 10 bets due to which NDA achieved a ‘hat-trick’ of victories

New Delhi: For the third time in a row, BJP has become the largest party in the Lok Sabha elections by a huge margin. The NDA alliance has got a majority. However, the election results did not come as expected. Like 2014 and 2019, BJP failed to get a majority on its own. But, after 10 years of rule, if BJP got so many seats on its own, then it was the effect of Brand Modi. These 10 things were in favor of Narendra Modi in this election:Removal of Article 370, government of strong decisions

Secondly, in 2019, as soon as the Modi government came to power, it immediately removed Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. It sent a big message. Modi was successful in giving the message that he/she spent the first five years in establishing himself and now it is time to take big pending decisions. he/she took decisions like CAA, Triple Talaq one after the other. he/she gave the message that he/she takes strong decisions in public interest. After the farmers’ law, he/she had to face agitation, but there was no political loss. Even during the Covid crisis, people remained with the Modi government with this thinking.

Ram Mandir and Hindutva Renaissance

The construction of the Ram temple was one of the most important moments of the Modi government. It gave Narendra Modi a larger than life place among the people. Not only did the public give him/her full credit for it, but also considered it a milestone in the Hindutva renaissance. Along with this, Narendra Modi has also indicated through many other initiatives in the last few years that he/she has been working silently for the Hindutva renaissance. In 10 years, apart from the Mahakal corridor, the development of many religious places including Kedarnath and Varanasi, initiatives were taken to include Hindu traditions in the curriculum. This had an impact on getting Hindu votes in his/her favour.

The country’s prestige increased due to the G20 event

Last year, G20 was organized in the country. It is a diplomatic conference of the world’s most powerful countries. This summit was held in Delhi at a time when India’s prestige increased and narratives like India becoming the world leader became a part of the political debate. In the last few years, this became the most important factor in the increasing popularity of Narendra Modi. For the first time, diplomacy started affecting the internal politics of the country. The effect of internal politics started showing on diplomacy as well. Debates related to this started taking place among the common people as well.

The bet that I will not let the country bow down

Nationalism has been a major factor in Narendra Modi’s victory. Although it was immediately linked to the surgical and air strikes in his/her first term, it had started at the same time when anti-national slogans were allegedly raised in JNU. Although opposition leaders wanted to take the lead by supporting the students in this matter, BJP turned the tables. It was successful in sending the message to the people that opposition parties want to protect anti-nationals for appeasement. Narendra Modi was successful in sending the message to the public that he/she is a supporter of nationalism.

Return of inheritance

Modi played an important gamble in his/her 10 years of tenure by bringing back the lost heritage and identity. he/she countered regional identity with Bharat identity. From using Bharat instead of India to building a new parliament or organizing a dialogue with the people, he/she put full emphasis on bringing back the heritage. he/she was successful in making people understand that there was a deliberate attempt to forget the ancient and glorious traditions of India and to erase its identity and he/she wanted to reverse this.

Free ration and beneficiary category

In 10 years, Modi created such a beneficiary class that remained with him/her in every situation. It was also said that after Indira Gandhi, Narendra Modi is the first leader who broke the wall of all castes and created a vote bank of beneficiaries. Starting from Ujjwala Yojana, Awas Yojana in the first term, this class has become almost inseparable with Modi till getting free ration. Targeting this beneficiary core voters, the PM had recently said that they are his/her security shield.

Infrastructure: The path to development

A lot of work was done on infrastructure amidst limited financial resources. Modi continued to strengthen his/her brand especially among the middle class through this work on the theme of New India. he/she made himself invincible especially among the middle class due to the roads built in different parts of the country and trains like Vande Bharat. he/she kept the theme of his/her governance from development to heritage and was successful in establishing it among the people politically as well.

Continuous work on social engineering

PM Modi also did social engineering during his/her rule. BJP was tagged as a party of upper castes till 10 years ago. Modi was successful in reaching it to OBCs and Dalits. he/she used BJP’s social engineering at the grassroots level. Initially, experts called it risky. Later, it became the most important reason behind BJP’s unmatched political performance and growing mass base. In 2019, when he/she had to face the anger of upper castes for changing the SC-ST law, he/she also implemented upper caste reservation. he/she was successful in creating a balance between all sections.

Theme against corruption and nepotism

Modi was successful in telling the people of the country that he/she has attacked corruption and nepotism. he/she has indicated many times that he/she is trying to create a narrative and a topic of political debate on the issue of corruption. his/her bet was that the corruption and nepotism bet gives him/her a natural edge over the opposition. This is the reason that when the opposition questioned the investigating agency amidst all the actions of ED, his/her stand has been that he/she got the mandate to attack corruption.

Constant dialogue and political skill

Modi made political skill and constant communication his/her strong weapon. he/she changed the way of working from Delhi after coming to power in 2014. he/she made several visits to various states one after the other. In the same sequence, he/she expanded BJP in such states where there was no trace of the party earlier. A big symbol of this political skill was seen in the elections when BJP got surprising success in a state like Odisha.
