From land attack cruise missile to Zorawar tank… see India’s preparations to get rid of the enemies.

New Delhi: Defense Research and Development Organisation- DRDO on Tuesday successfully flight tested Long Range Land Attack Cruise Missile (LRLACM) from a Mobile Articulated Launcher for the first time. In this test conducted from Chandipur center in Odisha, the cruise missile performed as expected and was successful in achieving its target. This missile is designed to engage ground based targets at long range. With this, the strength of India’s defense system has further increased. Many more missiles and tanks have been successfully tested in India this year. Today we are telling the success story of these missiles.

1. Agni-5 missile

On March 11, 2024, India successfully test-fired its long-range Agni-5 ballistic missile. This missile is equipped with MIRV technology, which provides the ability to attack multiple targets simultaneously. This test shows India’s growing strategic and technological strength.

2. New anti-ship ballistic missile

Recently, India has planned to test a long-range anti-ship ballistic missile with a range of 1,000 kilometers, which can target enemy warships and aircraft carriers. This new missile will significantly increase India’s maritime security.

3. Agni-4 Missile

Agni-4 missile is an intermediate-range ballistic missile (IRBM) developed by India, which is capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 4,000 kilometers. This missile can carry nuclear and conventional weapons up to one ton. The main objective of the missile is to strengthen India’s strategic defense system and increase the country’s defense capability. The successful test of Agni-4 missile in India was conducted on 6 September 2024 from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) located at Chandipur, Odisha.

4. Zorawar Tank

Zoravar tank is a light and versatile tank developed by India, designed to meet the needs of the Indian Army. This tank is especially suitable for operations in high altitude and difficult mountainous areas. Its lightweight construction provides it with high speed and maneuverability even in difficult terrain. The Zorawar tank has been developed with the aim of strengthening the army’s capabilities in areas adjacent to the China border, making it important in India’s defense strategy. Zoravar tank was successfully tested in India on 13 September 2024 in the desert area of ​​Rajasthan.

5. Anti-Tank Missile

Anti-tank missiles are designed to destroy enemy tanks and armored vehicles. These missiles are made to be light weight, high lethality and accuracy, making them effective even in difficult areas and at night. Anti-tank missiles are being used to meet the modern warfare requirements of the Indian Army and to strengthen the defense of the borders. India successfully test-fired indigenously developed Man Portable Anti-Tank Guided Missile (MP-ATGM) at Pokhran Field Firing Range in Rajasthan on 13 August 2024.
