Foreign students are becoming refugees in Canada, the secret was revealed by a Pakistani’s ‘act’! Trudeau government is worried

Study in Canada: Students from all over the world go to Canada to study. A large number of them are Indians as well, among whom Canada has become very popular in the last few years. But these days a very strange thing is being seen in Canada. In fact, Canada’s Immigration Minister Mark Miller has said that foreign students coming to study in Canada are demanding refugee status to stay here despite being on student visa. The number of students doing this is very high.
In an interview with Canadian journalist Mercedes Stephenson, Mark Miller said that students who have sought asylum are using the ‘International Student Program’ as a backdoor to settle in Canada. Foreign students are doing this because they want to reduce their tuition fees. Mark Miller described this incident as a worrying trend and said that universities and colleges should improve their interview screening system so that such illegal people cannot come here.

The issue of refugees arose due to the arrest of a Pakistani man

Minister Mark Miller in the government of Prime Minister Justice Trudeau said that the Immigration Department is studying the whole matter. Soon the ‘International Student Program’ can also be improved. Actually, the issue of refugees has come up because a few days ago a Pakistani man Mohammad Shahzeb Khan was arrested from Quebec. This man had entered Canada on a student visa in 2023 and was plotting a terrorist attack against Jews in New York City.

Mohammad Shahzeb was arrested before he/she could carry out the terrorist attack. Investigation revealed that Shahzeb, who came on a student visa, had applied for asylum in Canada. When Mark Miller was questioned about the asylum sought by the Pakistani man, he/she said that foreign students are seeking refugee status here after coming to Canada. he/she said that he/she cannot comment on the case of the Pakistani man because the matter is in court.

What is the reason for seeking refugee status?

However, during the interview, Mark Miller was asked how many foreign students have sought asylum. In response to this, he/she said, “The numbers are increasing very much. This is clearly worrying, because a large number of people come here. Despite being theoretically able to live and pay the tuition fees, which are four times the fees paid by Canadian students, people are seeking asylum.”

he/she said, “We have seen that asylum requests start from the first year when foreign students are arriving in Canada. Sometimes the reason for seeking asylum seems less logical. This is being done so that tuition fees can be reduced to the level of fees paid by Canadian students. Students here are showing opportunism and the system is being exploited.”

In fact, Canadian graduate and undergraduate students in Canada have to pay 7,300 to 7,600 Canadian dollars (4.5 lakh to 4.7 lakh) as tuition fees every year. Foreign graduate students paid tuition fees up to 23,000 dollars (14 lakh rupees) last year, while undergraduate students had to pay fees up to 40,000 dollars (24 lakh rupees) annually. In such a situation, students now want to obtain refugee status so that they have to pay less fees.
