Foreign Minister Jaishankar told how India-America friendship is getting stronger through the Consulate.


New Delhi: Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar inaugurated the US Consulate in Bengaluru. Jaishankar called it an important moment for India-US relations. he/she also announced that India will soon open its consulate in Los Angeles. The External Affairs Minister attended the inauguration ceremony along with US Ambassador Eric Garcetti. The move is expected to ease travel between the two countries and boost cooperation in areas such as technology, defence, education and space.

Benefits of opening US Consulate, Foreign Minister told

Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar, at the inauguration of the US Consulate in Bengaluru, explained its many benefits. he/she said the consulates help ease travel. Besides, they also play an important role in increasing contacts between the people of the two countries. The External Affairs Minister emphasized that it is now possible to harness the full potential of the relationship between India and the United States.

Jaishankar spoke openly on India-US relations

Jaishankar said that Bengaluru should also realize its full potential in this relationship. Jaishankar also said that the Indian government is encouraging the opening of more embassies in the country’s capital. Additionally, she is encouraging the opening of consulates in other cities as well. he/she expressed hope that more countries would open their consulates in Bengaluru. This will benefit the interests of India, Karnataka and Bengaluru.

Mention of defence, space to EV

Jaishankar also talked about the expansion of India-US relations. he/she said that in the age of AI, electric vehicles, space and drones, relations between the two countries will be based on technology more than ever. he/she also described defense sector as important. he/she said that two decades ago, India did not have American weapons and there was very little defense cooperation. But today India flies American helicopters like C17, C130, Chinook and Apache.

Jaishankar also emphasized on cooperation in the field of education and research. he/she said that the opening of the Consulate in Bengaluru is a sign that both the countries are overcoming the hesitations of the past.
