Five Indians will study for free in Oxford University, get this special scholarship

Indian Roads Scholarship: Five promising students from India have been awarded the prestigious Rhodes Scholarships to study in the UK. These five students will go to study in the world’s number one university i.e. Oxford University in October 2025. Here he/she is going to study with more than 100 Rhodes Scholars selected from all over the world. Among the students who have received scholarship, some are law students and some are philosophy students, while an astrophysicist from IIT-Bombay has also received scholarship.
The Rhodes Scholarship is one of the oldest and most prestigious scholarships in the world. This scholarship is being given to study at Oxford University since 1903. This scholarship in India started after independence i.e. from 1947. Since then, every year the best candidates get this scholarship to study in Britain. Education in Britain is very expensive. But students who receive this scholarship will be able to study at Oxford University for free, because this scholarship is fully-funded.

What did the Rhodes Trust say?

“The Rhodes Trust is delighted to introduce this extraordinary group of Rhodes Scholars selected for 2025 who represent cultures and ideas from every corner of the world,” said Elizabeth Kiss, CEO of the Rhodes Trust. “For more than a century, the Rhodes Trust has been bringing extraordinary individuals to Oxford and fostering a vibrant global community,” he/she added.

Who has received Rhodes Scholarship?

The first name among Indians selected for the Rhodes Scholarship is Ryan Chakraborty, who is completing his/her master’s degree from the School of Arts and Aesthetics, Jawaharlal Nehru University. The second name is Vibha Swaminathan, who is a final year law student at National Law School, Bangalore. The name of the third Indian is Avnish Vats, who has done research on accessibility in education and healthcare for persons with disabilities in Jharkhand.

The fourth Indian to receive the scholarship is Shubham Narwal, who is pursuing graduation in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry at ICR, Bareilly. Then the name of the fifth Indian is Pal Aggarwal, who is a final year B.Tech Engineering Physics student at IIT-Bombay.
