Fish, milk, eggs are asking from villages … Know this ‘amazing’ of ITBP on the Indo-China border

New Delhi : The Indo Tibet Border Police (ITBP), which is security and monitoring the border with China, is being ordered by the border villages and others including other food items like eggs, fish and milk. For the first time, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police has signed a memorandum with governments of Uttarakhand and Arunachal Pradesh to provide employment and livelihood opportunities to the local people living on the Indo-China border.

Part of Vibrant Village Program

The scheme, built under the Vibrant Village Program (VVP), has so far included 51 Vibrant Village and 108 border villages. Under this, vegetarian and non -vegetarian goods worth ₹ 1 crore have been supplied. Talking to our associate newspaper Economic Times, ITBP IGP Sanjay Gunjyal said that the process was started during Deepawali in October. So far, we have paid ₹ 1 crore to the villagers.

Help in reducing carbon footprint

he/she said that this system helps in reducing carbon footprints in delicate Himalayan upper region by promoting environmentally friendly transport, local sourcing and carbon offsetting and creating employment opportunities in border areas. Home Minister Amit Shah recently said that all the security forces, including the army, will buy milk, eggs, fish and vegetables from the local people to provide employment opportunities and prevent the decrease in population in the border areas.

Arunachal Pradesh did MOU

After the success of the Dehradun model, Arunachal Pradesh has signed an MoU. Under this, about 400 villages will supply ITBP daily. Arunachal Pradesh Agricultural Marketing Board CEO Okit Paling told ET that there are plans to include 400 villages in the MoU. We are going to assess the ration requirement of ITBP for the next one year. Gradually, they will improve their ability to provide ration to the border camps.

Earlier there used to be purchases from e-portal

A senior official said, “Earlier, the purchase was done through e-portal which was going to take time and caused a shortage of officers in remote areas.
