Excellent fielding and catching hidden in bad umpiring

For the star-studded Mumbai team, something or the other happened in every session of the Ranji match against Jammu and Kashmir, seeing which anyone would be forced to say that the stars are definitely on the field but the stars are not with them. On the second day before the match, a controversial decision was taken on the wicket of Ajinkya Rahane. After being declared out, when Rahane reached the dugout, he/she was called back to the crease.

When Ajinkya Rahane was playing the 29th ball of his/her innings, the umpire declared him/her out. he/she returned to the pavilion after scoring 16 runs on 29 balls. But later that ball turned out to be a no ball. he/she was called back from the dressing room. However, after returning, Rahane could not last long. Umar Nazir Mir bowled to Rahane in 26.1 overs. Rahane tried to hit a four, the ball was about to fall a little away from Jammu and Kashmir captain Paras Dogra, but Dogra dived and caught it with one hand. In the second innings, Ajinkya Rahane scored 16 runs on 36 balls at a strike rate of 44.44. Got out after making it. The captain’s bat remained silent in both the innings.

Before Rahane’s out and not out controversy, another incident had happened. Mumbai batsman Shreyas Iyer was caught out by wicketkeeper Kanhaiya Wadhawan on the ball of Aaqib Nabi in the 22nd over of the second innings. At that time Iyer was playing after scoring 17 runs on 15 balls, but the umpire declared him/her out. Mumbai captain Ajinkya Rahane and Shreyas Iyer did not like this decision. Both of them talked to the umpire and expressed their disagreement. This debate was about the legality of the catch. This debate between Rahane and Iyer has gone viral on social media, due to which this dispute has become a topic of discussion. After Iyer’s dismissal, the way Rahane was given out on no ball, one thing became clear that in this match, the umpires were seen coming under pressure in front of big players, although the decisions taken were against Mumbai.

40-year-old captain Paras Dogra took a brilliant catch in the second session, dismissing Mumbai captain Ajinkya Rahane. When Ajinkya Rahane faced tall fast bowler Umar Nazir Mir in the 27th over, Paras Dogra was fielding at mid-on. Rahane bowled a fuller delivery through cover to the vacant spot, but Paras reacted quickly and made a full-length dive and caught the ball with one hand. When Paras Dogra completed a brilliant catch, even his/her teammates and on-air commentators were surprised. After this catch, Mumbai’s batting completely collapsed and the host team celebrated Shardul Thakur whose century helped take the match to the third day.
