First Review: The applause continued for 11 minutes at Venice Film Festival, but ‘Joker 2’ was defeated here

Everyone is eagerly waiting for Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga’s film ‘Joker: Folie a Duo’ i.e. ‘Joker 2’. The trailer of the film was released five months ago, which increased the excitement about it. Now the first review of this film or rather the first reaction of the people after watching the film has also come. ‘Joker 2’ premiered at the 81st Venice International Film Festival. Interestingly, after the film ended, the audience stood and applauded for 11 minutes. ‘Joker: Folie a Duo’, directed by Todd Phillips, is a musical-psychological thriller. According to news agency ANI, after the film at Sala Grande, the crowd surrounded Joaquin Phoenix, Lady Gaga and Todd. Everyone started congratulating them. For a full 10.50 minutes, the audience stood and applauded in the theater.

The report also said that the audience in the theatre room kept singing the theme song of ‘Joker’ amid thunderous applause, while Lady Gaga was also praised a lot.

However, amidst the applause, some people did not like the film very much. ‘Hollywood Reporter’ while reviewing the film wrote, ‘Lady Gaga has a charm in the film. She makes it alive. But ‘Joker 2′ can be called very sad. There was a dire need to add songs in between.’

Similarly, ‘The Guardian’ has written in its review that Joaquin Phoenix’s performance is ‘single-note as before’. It says that his/her presence in the film is as strong as it was in the first one.

‘Indie Wire’ has called it a ‘boring and flat film.’ It has also written that there should be a public hearing for the way Lady Gaga has been ignored in the film.
