FIR registered against Rahul Gandhi, Delhi Police action on BJP’s complaint

New Delhi : Delhi Police has registered an FIR against Leader of Opposition and MP Rahul Gandhi in the scuffle that took place in Parliament House on Thursday. Two BJP MPs were injured in this scuffle. According to a PTI report, the Sansad Marg police station was booked under Indian Penal Code sections 117 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt), 125 (endangering life or personal safety of others), 131 (use of criminal force), 351 ( An FIR has been registered under section 3(5) (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (criminal intimidation).

BJP had filed a complaint

Earlier in the day, BJP had filed a police complaint against Gandhi. In this, he/she was accused of ‘physical attack and instigation’ during the scuffle in the Parliament complex. There was also a demand to prosecute him/her under attempt to murder and other charges. BJP MP Hemang Joshi, along with party colleagues Anurag Thakur and Bansuri Swaraj, went to Sansad Marg police station and lodged a complaint.

Said not to follow the prescribed path

After filing the complaint at Sansad Marg police station, Anurag Thakur told the journalists that a complaint has been lodged with Delhi Police against Rahul Gandhi for physical assault and instigation. he/she said that the NDA MPs were peacefully exposing the false propaganda of the Congress and demanding an apology from them. At the same time, Rahul Gandhi came with his/her ‘Indi’ alliance MPs and instead of going through the prescribed path, came among the NDA MPs. he/she also instigated his/her own party members and proceeded with a “malicious attitude”.
