Fcat Check: Is the IITian Baba who came to Mahakumbh an ISI spy? Vigilant’s investigation found the claim to be fake

Among such Babas, another Baba is in the news this time and he/she is an IITian Baba. The videos of IITN Vairagi Baba who came to Mahakumbh are being shared widely on social media. However, meanwhile, some users on social media are claiming about IITN Baba that this Baba who came to Mahakumbh is none other than Nishant Aggarwal, former senior system engineer of BrahMos Aerospace Private Limited.

What are the claims of the users?

A user named @ARoyUniverse wrote on social media – This is Nishant Aggarwal, who is an alumnus of IIT-Ropar and later became an engineer in BrahMos, but that did not stop him/her from becoming an ISI spy, for which he/she was convicted. Arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment.

Another user @Aiyub_Dawood also wrote on X – This is Baba Nishant Aggarwal.

What is the truth of the viral claim?

When Sajjag’s team searched on Google about the Baba seen in the viral video, a report from Prabhat Khabar was found. According to which, Iitian Baba’s real name is Abhay Singh, who is a resident of Haryana. After that Sajjag’s team started searching social media handles with the name Abhay Singh. after which we A Facebook profile named Abhay Singh Found on which was the picture of the Baba from the viral video. The information given in it was also matching with the information given in the viral video.

Then we also found some old pictures uploaded in that profile.

After that we searched on Google about Nishan Agarwal with viral claim. A BBC report Found. According to which the DRDO scientist was arrested in the case of alleged espionage.

When the picture in the BBC report and the picture of Abhay Singh were compared, both the pictures were of different people.

conclusion: The claim on social media that Iitian Baba is an ISI spy is completely false. Sajjak’s investigation revealed that Iitian Baba’s real name is Abhay Singh and he/she has no connection with ISI.
