False rape case has been filed… retired army officer appeals to Supreme Court

New Delhi: The Supreme Court today issued notice in a case in which a retired army officer and a senior citizen had approached the court to quash the false rape case registered against them. The retired army officer has appealed for justice in the Supreme Court. The allegation is that ‘a woman has filed a false case of rape against Captain Rakesh Walia. The woman has already filed 7 such cases. In the last 8 years, cases of rape and molestation have been registered against 9 people in different police stations in Delhi. Police investigation has confirmed that the woman has filed rape cases against several people.’ According to the press note, ‘The woman claimed that she was drugged and raped in the car, but as per the call records, she Was on the phone the whole time. The press note reads, ‘Walia was told that if he/she wanted to save himself from the case, he/she would have to pay Rs 2 lakh, but he/she decided to fight the case back. he/she is suffering from cancer and has suffered a heart attack because of this false case.

According to the press note, ‘Ekam Nyay Foundation stands with him/her in this fight. Advocate Ashwini Dubey, along with Ekam Nyay Foundation, represented Walia in the Supreme Court. Recently, the Karnataka High Court had also quashed a 498A case against a man, where the woman had filed 10 rape and molestation cases against different men over the years.
