Fake, ruckus and Amit Shah’s entry … JPC report on Waqf Board created a ruckus in Parliament

New Delhi: There was a fierce debate between the NDA and the opposition MPs in both houses of Parliament on Thursday about the Joint Committee report on Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2024. Opposition MPs created a ruckus, alleging not including objections in the report. Opposition MPs claimed that parts of the disagreement note have been removed from the final report. This report was presented in the Lok Sabha by Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) President and BJP MP Jagdambika Pal, during which the proceedings were interrupted due to protests by opposition MPs. At the same time, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, while trying to pacify the protesting MPs, said that if disagreement notes are added, the government has no objection. Amit Shah said that some opposition members have objected that the issues, disputes raised by them have not been fully included. he/she said that if the disputes raised by the opposition MPs are included, then my party has no objection to it.

In the Rajya Sabha, the report on the bill was presented by Rajya Sabha MP Medha Kulkarni and accepted by the House. During the discussion on the report, the opposition walked out of the House. Leader of the Opposition and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said that the opposition would not accept fake reports that crush our thoughts. The Congress President demanded that the report be sent back to the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) and re -introduced.

Kharge said in the JPC report, many members have their own disagreement report. It is not right to remove those notes and crush our thoughts. This is anti -democracy … We will never accept such fake reports. If there are no ideas of disagreement in the report, it should be sent back and introduced again. Many India coalition MPs also supported Kharge. Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Arvind Sawant claimed that our disagreement note was removed.

Refuting Kharge’s claims, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said that disagreement was engaged in the note report and accused the opposition of misleading the House. he/she said that members of the opposition are making an unnecessary issue. Attacking the opposition, Union Minister and BJP President JP Nadda said that some people were trying to fight the Indian state, their gesture was in the context of the statement made by Rahul Gandhi last year.
