Fake post about atrocities and gang rape of Hindus in Bangladesh! Hansal Mehta condemns it


Famous Bollywood filmmaker Hansal Mehta recently exposed fake tweets related to Hindu attacks, gang rape and propaganda in Bangladesh after Sheikh Hasina fled the country. Earlier, he/she shared that his/her 2022 film ‘Faraaz’ which was released globally on Netflix, was banned in Bangladesh.

Hansal Mehta wrote on X on August 6, ‘I got this message from Bangladesh. It tells you what the people there are feeling, not what some fundamentalists here want you to believe.’ he/she further told about the message which said, ‘Good morning sir, it seems that we have gained independence once again in the history of our country. Now we have to build a just and fair Bangladesh 2.0.’

Apart from this, Hansal Mehta also exposed several fake tweets by retweeting them, in which it was written that people are spreading propaganda in Bangladesh. One of the tweets re-shared by him/her was about Muslim students protecting Hindu temples in Bangladesh. Another tweet said that cricketer Liton Das’s house was set on fire, which was also false news. The third post was about rumors and fake tweets spread against the sovereignty and independence of Bangladesh. While another repost read, a rape video from Bangladesh, which was false, as the incident happened with a Bangladeshi woman in Bengaluru in 2021.

Hansal Mehta’s film was banned

Hansal Mehta’s film ‘Faraaz’, based on the terror attack in Dhaka, was banned in Bangladesh. he/she is known for directing films like ‘Lootere’, ‘Shahid’, ‘Gandhu’, ‘Citylights’, ‘Scam 1992’, ‘Scoop’ and many others. his/her latest directorial venture, the crime thriller ‘The Buckingham Murders’, starring Kapoor Khan in the lead role, will be released on September 13, 2014. his/her last produced film was ‘Dedh Bigha Zameen’ this year.
