Fadnavis and Shinde proved to be Bumrah-Reddy in the election field of Maharashtra, this pair did wonders.

New Delhi: There is widespread discussion about the performance of Nitish Reddy and Jasprit Bumrah in the Perth Test. What a show both of them made in the first test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy! A similar pair of new batsman and experienced bowler has created havoc in the election field of Maharashtra also. Like Reddy, Eknath Shinde also wielded the bat for the first time in the assembly elections and scored runs. On the other hand, in Bumrah style, Devendra Fadnavis scattered the wickets and defeated the opponents. The combination of Shinde and Fadnavis brought results in the Maharashtra Assembly elections which hardly anyone would have expected. Even in the exit polls, the BJP-led alliance Mahayuti had predicted to get a maximum of 200 seats, which fell flat and Mahayuti crossed this figure as well.

Shiv Sena changed sides in 2019

Last time in the 2019 assembly elections, BJP, which had given the strongest performance by winning 105 seats, was given a big blow by Shiv Sena with half the strength on the demand for the post of Chief Minister. After that the political situation in Maharashtra completely changed. Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray became the Chief Minister of Maharashtra by joining hands with his/her opponents and BJP remained silent. Uddhav had only 58 MLAs. But after two and a half years of happiness in power, Uddhav had to see days which he/she could never have imagined. Shiv Sena broke into two and under the leadership of Eknath Shinde, 41 bills rebelled against Uddhav. Shinde healed BJP’s wounds through rebellion and in return he/she got the CM’s chair.

This is how BJP took revenge from Uddhav and Sharad

But BJP’s mission was completed when Sharad Pawar’s party NCP split. It was nephew Ajit Pawar who raised the alarm of rebellion and Sharad Pawar, who conspired against BJP by instigating Uddhav, remained wringing his/her hands. The big thing is that whether it was Eknath Shinde or Ajit Pawar, both of them created such a big ambush in their respective parent parties that the separated groups got recognition as the real parties. Eknath Shinde became the president of Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar became the president of NCP. On the other hand, Uddhav Thackeray was left with a ‘copy’ of Shiv Sena while Sharad Pawar got a ‘fake’ NCP. Like BJP-Shiv Sena, Ajit Pawar’s party has also performed better than expected in the assembly elections.

Mahayuti towards overwhelming majority in trends

In the trends till 1 pm, the Election Commission website said that BJP alone had taken lead on 127 seats, Shiv Sena on 56 while NCP on 39 seats. In this way Mahayuti had taken steps towards victory on 222 seats. On the other hand, Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) was able to gain lead in only 49 seats with the help of 19 seats of Congress, 18 seats of Shiv Sena (UBT) and 12 seats of NCP (SP). Candidates of independent and other parties had gained lead on 17 seats. There is little hope that these figures will change significantly in the final results. The last few rounds of counting were left on most of the seats, while on the remaining seats also more than half the counting of rounds had been completed. Because of this, there is full hope that the trends will change in the final results. That means Bumrah and Nitish of Maharashtra politics have won the field well.
