Fact Check: Viral video of Santa drone show is fake, has nothing to do with Prayagraj Mahakumbh Mela

Meanwhile, a video is viral on social media, in which thousands of drones are showing a drone show, in which figures of Lightning and Santa Claus are shown. While sharing this video, it is being described as Mahakumbh in Prayagraj. However, this video is not of the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, but of a drone show organized by Sky Elements in collaboration with drone company UVify in Texas, USA.

At first, the figures of Santa Claus shown with the help of drones in the viral video seemed suspicious in the context of Kumbh Mela, because Kumbh is the biggest religious festival of Hindu religion. Subsequently, when the video was searched through reverse image search, the same was found on an Instagram account named ‘Sky Elements Drones’. Video Found, which was uploaded on December 6, 2024 with the caption ‘5,000 Drone Santa’.

Similar scenes were seen in the videos uploaded on the same channel on December 12 and 22, 2024. A video uploaded on December 12 (archive here) revealed that Sky Elements, in collaboration with UVify, hosted the largest drone show ever in the US, featuring scenes capturing the holiday spirit – a beautiful Thanksgiving turkey, a Winter Wonderland and Gingerbread Village (now officially the largest according to Guinness World Records) were featured.
