Fact Check: Viral letter in the name of Tamil Nadu BJP President Annamalai is fake

New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi took oath as Prime Minister for the third consecutive time on Sunday after the victory of the NDA alliance in the Lok Sabha elections. A total of 71 of his/her ministers were also administered the oath of office and secrecy. Meanwhile, an alleged letter written on the BJP letterhead is going viral on social media, which bears the alleged signature of Tamil Nadu BJP President Annamalai. The letter states that Shivraj Singh Chouhan will be made the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Yogi Adityanath will be made the Chief Minister of Haryana at the end of 2024. Vishwas News investigated the viral letter. It proved to be fake. Tamil Nadu BJP President Annamalai, while talking to Vishwas News, confirmed that this letter is fake.

What is going viral?

Facebook user Kuldeep Singh Lodhi (Archive link) posted this letter and wrote, ‘Shivraj Singh will be the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh till the end of 2024 and Yogi will be the Haryana CM, it will be fine.’ It is written in the viral letter, ‘Bharatiya Janata Party, Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan should be made the next Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh in the last month of 2024. The next Chief Minister of Haryana in 2024 will be the current Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. K. Annamalai. To find out the truth of the viral letter, Vishwas News started searching on Google with the relevant keywords. No news related to this letter was found anywhere. The viral letter had the alleged signature of Tamil Nadu BJP President Annamalai, so the social media handles of Tamil Nadu BJP were also searched. The viral letter was not found anywhere. But we found another letter on BJP’s letterhead, whose text was different, but it was similar to the viral letter. You can see the difference between the two below.

Vishwas News contacted Tamil Nadu BJP President Annamalai regarding this matter. he/she called it fake and said, ‘This letter is fake. Someone has put an electronic signature on this fake letter.’ The viral post was shared by a Facebook user named Kuldeep Singh Lodhi. The user has about 5000 friends on Facebook and he/she is a resident of Uttar Pradesh.

Vishwas News found in its investigation that this letter is fake and wrong. K Annamalai has not issued this letter regarding Shivraj Singh Chauhan and Yogi Adityanath.
