Fact Check: Video of LJP leader’s intervention in a fight between two staffers shared on Facebook with misleading claim

New Delhi/Aurangabad: A video has gone viral on social media in which LJP (R) state vice president Prakash Chandra, close to Chirag Paswan, is seen hitting a person. The incident happened at a petrol pump.

What is the claim?

It has been claimed on social media that Prakash Chandra is a hooligan. In this rage, he/she has beaten a person. Facebook user Rajneesh Kumar claims that Prakash Chandra is a habitual criminal.

Another Facebook user Anil Kumar Rao has expressed regret over this behavior of Prakash Chandra.

What is the truth?

NBT team reached the spot to know the reality of the incident. There it was revealed that the man whom Prakash Chandra was beating worked as a guard at his/her own petrol pump. The name of that guard is Ravindra Pandey. When we asked the guard himself what was the matter, he/she told that his/her colleague Upendra Singh had hidden his/her mobile as a joke. Both the guards had fought with each other regarding this matter.

While an altercation was going on between the two, Prakash Chandra reached the petrol pump. he/she separated both of them and even when Tu Tu Main Main did not stop, he/she hit guard Ravindra Pandey. Meanwhile, someone sitting in a truck standing at the petrol pump to get diesel made a video which went viral on social media.

The LJP (R) leader says that he/she is into social life. For this reason the opponents do not leave any opportunity to spread false propaganda against him/her. he/she says that his/her opponents are also plotting to kill him/her. For this reason he/she has hired personal guards for his/her security. he/she says that his/her opponents spread the false propaganda regarding keeping guards for security reasons that he/she shows dominance by walking with the guards. he/she says, ‘Is it not a crime to ensure your safety?’

Chandra said that people are saying all kinds of things on social media, yet both the guards have not been removed from the duty of the petrol pump. he/she said that both are old staff and are very happy.

The guard Ravindra Pandey, who is being beaten in the video, has also admitted his/her mistake and said that Prakash Chandra had waved his/her hand only to end the fight. In this case, no one among the two guards said that Prakash Chandra had committed hooliganism with them.
