Fact Check: To run his/her shop, does Junaid tear seats and puncture tires of vehicles parked on the roads?

New Delhi: What do people do to grow their business? It is a common belief that no one can become a big businessman or industrialist without doing something wrong. So did Junaid also do the same to expand his/her business? At least this is what is being claimed on social media. A video is being shared on Instagram claiming that Junaid, a seat cover and puncture shop owner, is doing wrong things. Let us know what is the claim and what is the truth.

What is the claim?

X handle @RealBababanaras has shared the video in which a person is seen moving his/her hands here and there on the seat covers of two-wheelers parked on the roadside. Looking at the video, it seems as if the person is cutting the seat cover with a knife or some other sharp object. he/she then goes near a four-wheeler and is seen tampering with its tyres. It is being claimed that the name of this person is Mohammad Junaid whose seat cover and puncture shop is on this road. he/she is doing the despicable act of tearing the seat cover and puncturing the tire so that people come to him/her to get the seat cover changed and the puncture repaired. It is claimed that Junaid does this despicable act to expand his/her business and the matter came to light when its video was made. This X post had been viewed more than 5.70 lakh times till 1.45 pm on December 23.

What is the truth?

When we investigated this video, it got stuck in AI detection. The tool said that there is a 97% chance of this video being created by AI. Then we tested the sound heard in the video and found that between 0 to 5 seconds the sound was also tampered and the probability of tampering was found to be 54%.

Then we started examining the video frame by frame. Then there was continuous evidence that the video was created by AI. For example, in one frame, some part of the upper part of the right ear of the man identified as Junaid is missing, while in the other frame the entire ear is visible.

Similarly, when I looked at his/her hand, it also looked strange. Keep in mind that AI still sometimes misses the correct shape of body parts.

To check the authenticity of the video, we also examined the number seen on the scooter. When we tried to find out the details of the vehicle from numbers UK09BI0835 and UK09BT0835, nothing was found. That is, no vehicle is registered with both these numbers. Since there is some similarity between I and T, we checked the registration with both the numbers, but nothing was found.

A logo is also included in the video. It is written on the logo- ITS ALL ABOUT UTTARAKHAND. We started investigating whether there is any organization with this name? In the investigation we got only one instagram profile Mila which is of the same name and whose logo is the same as seen in the video. But when we searched the Instagram profile, we did not find this video of alleged Junaid anywhere.

conclusion

We checked the authenticity of the video, audio as well as the vehicle, but were disappointed everywhere. While evidence of AI tampering was found in the video-audio, nothing was found about the vehicle. In the end, this video was not found even on the Instagram ID which was traced through people. Not only this, no video, image or news was found related to Mohammad Junaid tearing the seat. It is clear that the video posted on X is fake and the claim made is completely false.
