New Delhi: A picture is going viral on social media. The bride and groom are seen in the picture. The grooms have garlands around their necks and the brides are seen in wedding dresses. The picture is from Pakistan. A mass marriage has taken place there which is much talked about.

What is the claim?

While posting this picture on social media platform X, it has been claimed that six Muslims have married their own six sisters. he/she says in a sarcastic tone – This is the beauty of Islam. What other religion in the world would allow marriage between real brothers and sisters?

Information about this marriage has been given on many more social media handles.

What is the truth?

When we investigated the claim, we found out that six brothers were married to six sisters in the Punjab province of Pakistan. But are all the grooms real brothers and are all the sisters real brothers and are the bride and groom real brothers and sisters? When I searched the internet to find answers to these questions, I found reports from Pakistani news channels on YouTube. It has been said in these reports that this mass marriage took place in Jalalpur Peerwala, about 90 km south of Multan city. Its main objective was to reduce the huge expenditure on weddings. Regarding the mutual relationship between the bride and groom, it has been told that all the six sisters are from the same family and not real sisters. On the other hand, the six brothers are also not related, they belong to the same family. Meaning, neither are the six sisters born of the same mother nor are all the six brothers related. Neither the bride nor the groom are real brothers and sisters. Yes, there is definitely a brother-sister relationship between them, but they are not blood relatives.

This mass Nikah is being praised on the news channels of Pakistan that this ideal method has been found to save unnecessary expenses. A similar marriage had come into discussion three years ago in Multan, Punjab. Even then, six brothers had become grooms and all of them had married six sisters. Then Mohammad Latif’s six daughters were married to their cousins.

conclusion

Our investigation has found it to be true that six brothers married six sisters in Pakistan, but the claim that the bride and groom are real brothers and sisters is absolutely false. It is clear from the investigation that the claim made on social media is misleading.
