In this, users are sharing a post claiming that Anant Ambani was put under house arrest after a controversial interview came to light. After which his/her supporters are protesting demanding his/her release. This claim is being made quoting the alleged news of news channel NDTV.

What is the truth of the viral report?

Vishvas News found this claim false in its investigation. By creating a fake news page with the logo of NDTV, a fabricated news report is being made claiming Anant Ambani’s controversial interview and his/her subsequent arrest. Similarly, in another post, a similar claim is being made about South Indian actress Nayanthara, which is fake. Also, in both the reports, there is mention of promotion of two different investment platforms, through which the lure of very high returns in a short time has been given.

After clicking on the link given in the viral post, the page we saw read ‘Supporters gather for Anant Ambani’s release after scandalous interview.’ written from the headline news is published, whose byline mentions the name of J. Sam Daniel Stalin and the logo of the English news channel ‘NDTV’ is placed on this page. From which it appears that this is a news published on NDTV’s website.

However, the URL of this page ‘https://store.newsindiatoday42.com/‘, which confirms the fake page created in the name of NDTV. The logo of the official website of NDTV is NDTV.com and we did not find any report on this website which mentions the arrest of Anant Ambani.

In this report, a picture of lawyers is seen protesting with posters demanding the ‘release’ of Anant Ambani. In the search, we found the original photo published on Slate.com’s website on December 9, 2020.
