Fact Check: Has AAP leader Avadh Ojha really converted? Know the truth of the viral picture

New Delhi: Teacher Avadh Ojha, who gives private coaching to students preparing for UPSC, has recently joined the Aam Aadmi Party. After Awadh Ojha joined AAP, some of his/her old pictures and videos are being shared again on social media. Meanwhile, a picture of Awadh Ojha is going viral. In which he/she is seen with his/her family. While sharing this picture, users are claiming that Awadh Ojha has converted to religion.

What was claimed?

A user named @JaipurDialogues on X shared the picture of Awadh Ojha and claimed that Awadh Bhai accepted religion as soon as he/she joined AAP.

Another user @ArunKosli wrote, ‘Today I have lost faith in humanity, the Awadh exorcist who threw such a long ball has become Mulla ji today.’

Know what is the truth?

When the picture and claims of Awadh Ojha which were going viral on social media were fact checked, all the claims were proved to be false. First of all, Sajjag’s team checked the reverse image of Awadh Ojha’s picture and found many posts of X. In which his/her religious conversion was claimed. However, then Sajjag’s team started searching for this picture on the Facebook handle of Avadh Ojha. After which the picture uploaded on May 11 was found.

It is clear from the upload date of this picture that the picture of Awadh Ojha is not recent. This picture was uploaded on May 11. In which he/she had gone with his/her family to offer a chadar at the Dargah. Sajag’s team carried forward its investigation and searched on Google about the conversion of Awadh Ojha. However, no report related to him/her has been found on Google.

conclusion: Awadh Ojha’s claim of religious conversion turned out to be false. In Sajjak’s investigation, the picture which was being shared claiming conversion of Awadh Ojha was 6 months old. Apart from this, no report of his/her religious conversion has been received.
