What’s in the video?

In this video, it is being said that cold drink causes melting of teeth and bones. It was said that some time ago, when a broken tooth was put in cold drink, it melted within the next 15 days.

It was told in the video that even after death, human teeth do not get destroyed. Dinosaur teeth still exist millions of years after their extinction. But if you put them in cold drink, they will also melt. It has been claimed in the clip that this is due to very dangerous chemicals being mixed in these drinks.

The doctor told this truth

Our team spoke to Consultant Dietitian and Certified Diabetic Educator Pooja Shah Bhave (CDE, MSc CND, BSc FSN) to know the truth on this matter. he/she has called this claim true. If they are to be believed, these carbonated beverages contain phosphoric acid. Regular consumption of these drinks can cause tooth decay and loss of enamel. This can also happen due to excessive sugar in the drink and its acidic nature. Phosphoric acid found in these drinks also causes damage to teeth and bones.

Doctor told, what research says

Some time ago, special facts were revealed in the survey conducted on 17000 Chinese people in China Health and Nutrition Survey. According to this, the incidence of bone fractures was increasing among those people who consumed a lot of cold drinks. Low bone density and bone loss are believed to be the cause of bone breakage during a fall. Bone loss and tooth loss are caused by decalcification i.e. dissolution of bone or teeth. This is considered a common problem among those who drink cold drinks daily.

What is the expert’s advice?

Experts believe that the phosphoric acid present in cold drinks disturbs the balance of calcium phosphorus and also affects the calcium absorption which is necessary for bone health. Some drinks also contain high amount of caffeine. These also reduce calcium absorption and increase the chances of osteoporosis.
