Fact Check: Do children study sitting on the floor in Delhi schools? Viral photo was found to be from Bihar during investigation


New Delhi: Delhi Assembly elections are going to be held next month. Before the elections, all kinds of claims are going viral on social media. Recently a user shared two pictures on social media. In one of which, Arvind Kejriwal’s glass palace is seen and in the other picture, he/she is seen sitting on the ground inside the school and studying. While sharing both the pictures, users said that the education system of Delhi has been questioned.

What is the user’s claim?

While sharing both the pictures on social media, a user named @HPhobiaWatch wrote – Kejriwal Sheesh Mahal vs Delhi Government School. No PR can change the reality.

What is the truth of this claim?

When Sajjak’s team examined both the viral pictures, it was found that the first picture is of Delhi CM’s residence. When Sajjak’s team reverse imaged the first picture, jagran.com A report was received. In which this picture was uploaded.

However, when the second picture of the post was investigated, it was found that the picture of children studying on the ground in the school is of a school in Bihar and not in Delhi. Earlier, when Sajjag’s team checked the viral picture through reverse image with the help of Google Lens, it was found that this picture was included in many media reports. In which it was told that this picture is from Reuters.

After that Sajjag’s team started searching for the viral picture on Reuters. After some time this picture was found on Reuters. In which it was told that this picture is of a school in Brahmapur village of Chhapra district of Bihar. This photo was clicked on 19 July 2013.

conclusion: Sajjag’s investigation found the claim on social media comparing Delhi CM’s residence and Delhi school to be misleading. Actually, the school seen in the social media post is not from Delhi but from Bihar. This picture was clicked in the year 2013. During Sajjak’s investigation, this user’s claim turned out to be misleading.
