Fact Check: Did Bangladesh deploy VT-5 tanks near the Indian border? Know the truth of the viral claim


New Delhi: Amidst the ongoing violence in Bangladesh, many claims are being shared on social media. Meanwhile, a claim also went viral that a large number of Bangladeshi VT-5 tanks were seen moving towards the Indian border. However, when Sajjag’s team fact-checked these claims, they turned out to be false.

On social media, ex-user @JamilKhabir396 posted a post at 5 am on December 1 claiming that Bangladeshi VT-5 tanks were seen moving towards the Indian border. Along with this, a picture of Tack walking in a frame was also posted.

Whereas the X handle of OSINT in USA tweeted this about Bangladeshi tanks moving towards the Indian border. However, after some time OSINT deleted its post.

What was found in the investigation

When Sajjag’s team fact-checked these claims, the picture shared with the post turned out to be old. Sajjak’s team first checked the picture shared in the post with the reverse image and found out that this picture Report The name appeared on the website in January this year.

Another user @preetikaur69 also shared a video of the tanks going by, claiming that Bangladesh has deployed VT-5 tanks near the Indian border.

However, when that video was also investigated, it was found that this video is a video of winter exercise of Bangladesh Army.
