What is the new program of Canada giving PR?
Actually, the Government of Canada has brought a Permanent Residency Program to the Construction Workers. Through this program, there is a plan to overcome the crisis of homes by calling skill construction workers in the country. Through this program, the government will give PR to about 6000 illegal construction workers present in Canada, while 14000 foreign workers will be given permanent residency. Temporary Foreign Workers (TFW) will also be allowed to enroll in a study permit apprenticeship program.
Till now, many foreign workers were unable to apprehend without study permits in sectors like construction, healthcare. In easy language, this program will get the construction workers directly in Canada, then they should be in the country or come to work from abroad. Many foreign students are also working in the construction sector, while their work permit has expired or is going to be done. These students will also have an option to get PR in Canada through this new program.
Why did Canada bring a new program?
Canada is currently struggling with the shortage of homes. People do not have enough houses to live. In such a situation, the government has set a target to build 10 lakh new houses by 2030. However, Canada is also facing skill labor deficiency, especially in the construction sector. In such a situation, it is not possible for the government to meet the target of homes.
