New Delhi: Amid the NEET paper leak case, the Ministry of Education also canceled the UGC-NET exam late on Wednesday evening. The ministry has cited the threat to the integrity of the exam as the reason behind its decision. The opposition is very angry after the NEET paper leak and the cancellation of the NET exam. The main opposition party Congress took the Modi government to task and asked the PM when Prime Minister Narendra Modi would discuss the NEET exam. The Congress termed the Narendra Modi-led government as a “paper leak government” and asked whether the Education Minister would take responsibility now. Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra targeted the Center over the development of UGC-NET 2024 and demanded accountability.

The cancellation of UGC-NET exam is a victory of the passion of lakhs of students. The Congress President said, ‘This is the defeat of the arrogance of the Modi government, due to which they made a despicable attempt to trample the future of our youth.’ Continuing the attack, Kharge said that the Union Education Minister first says that there was no paper leak in NEET, but when the education mafia was arrested in Bihar, Gujarat and Haryana, the minister admits that some scam has happened. The senior Congress leader asked when will the NEET exam be cancelled? Kharge further said that Modi ji, take responsibility to stop the rigging and paper leak of your government in the NEET exam as well.

Today the examination was cancelled on suspicion of paper leak. First the NEET paper was leaked and now the UGC-NET paper. The Modi government has become a ‘paper leak government’.

Reacting sharply to the cancellation of the exam, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also alleged that the BJP government’s corruption and laxity is harmful for the youth. She said that after the news of scam in NEET exam, now the NET exam held on June 18 has also been canceled due to fear of irregularities. Will accountability be fixed now? The Union Education Ministry ordered the cancellation of UGC-NET amid the ongoing controversy over the medical entrance exam NEET and handed over the investigation of the case to the CBI.
