Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur has been honored with Padma Bhushan on this Republic Day and his/her former wife and actress Suchitra Krishnamurthy has reacted to it. Suchitra is overjoyed and says that she is proud of Kaveri’s father Shekhar. The central government announced 139 Padma awards for the year 2025 on the eve of Republic Day on January 25. In this, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur was awarded Padma Bhushan, Ashok Saraf was awarded Padma Shri and Pankaj Udhas Udhas was awarded Padma Bhushan posthumously. After receiving the Padma Bhushan, Shekhar Kapoor jumped with joy and expressed his/her happiness by writing on X, ‘What an honour.’ I am grateful that the Government of India considered me worthy of Padma Bhushan.
