Everyone has a stake in Modi 3.0, allies get many positions in cabinet panel

New Delhi: In the Lok Sabha elections, BJP could not get a majority on its own. However, the NDA alliance won and also formed the government. As a result, the alliance partners are getting a lot of responsibilities in Modi Government 3.0. First, NDA allies have been given positions in the cabinet and now in cabinet committees. After 2014, NDA allies never got so much representation in the cabinet panel. The cabinet panel has been announced three weeks after Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Council of Ministers took oath on June 9.No change in Cabinet Committee on Security
Although there have been changes in the new cabinet committees, there is one panel that has not changed at all. This is the Cabinet Committee on Security. This panel takes decisions on all matters related to national security, including defense expenditure and senior appointments in the security apparatus. This committee, headed by the Prime Minister, also includes the Defense, Home, Finance and Foreign Ministers. As before, the ministers of all those ministries are the same as they were in Modi 2.0.

Responsibility was also given to NDA colleagues
Apart from this, there has definitely been a change in the Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs. This committee is known as the ‘Super Cabinet’, which looks at economic and political issues as well as center-state relations. This committee now includes TDP’s Ram Mohan Naidu and Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) chief Jitan Ram Manjhi as members. Manjhi is the MSME Minister, while Naidu is the Civil Aviation Minister.

JDU’s Lallan Singh is in the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, while Chirag Paswan, the head of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), another major ally of Bihar, has got a place in the Cabinet Committee on Investment and Development. Lallan Singh alias Rajiv Ranjan Singh holds the Panchayati Raj and Animal Husbandry departments and Paswan is the Minister of Food Processing Industries.

Similarly, another NDA ally RLD leader Jayant Chaudhary has been made a special invitee member in the Cabinet Committee on Skill, Employment and Livelihood. Chaudhary is the Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

BJP also gave place to new faces
It is also worth noting that except the appointment and housing committee, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is a part of every committee. This shows how big is Rajnath Singh’s stature in the Modi government. Along with this, former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Annapurna Devi have also been given a place in the cabinet committee this time.
