Even the children of 10th and 12th have lungs… All schools closed in Delhi-NCR, what did the Supreme Court say on pollution?

New Delhi: The order to close all the schools of Delhi-NCR came from the Supreme Court. While hearing the pollution issue, the Supreme Court on Monday said that classes 10th and 12th should also be made online. After the implementation of Group 4 a day earlier, all the schools of Delhi were closed except 10th and 12th. The Supreme Court also issued instructions regarding NCR. Asked UP and other governments to take a decision.

When the hearing was in the final stages, the court was told by the NCR states UP-Haryana that schools up to class 9 were going to be closed. On this the judge said that the lungs of children of class 10th and 12th are also the same. The Supreme Court said that it is the constitutional responsibility of all states to ensure that citizens live in a pollution-free environment.

The Supreme Court asked the NCR states to prepare a mechanism where complaints of violation of restrictions imposed under GRAP-4 can be made. The Supreme Court said that restrictions under Group 4 should continue even if the AQI level goes below 450. The SC told the Air Quality Management Commission that some urgency is needed to implement pollution control measures. The Supreme Court asked the Delhi government to explain the steps taken to curb rising pollution levels in the national capital.

In many areas of Delhi on Monday, AQI is beyond 500 and in some areas it is close to 1000. Now politics is also being seen on this matter. BJP is cornering the Delhi government on this issue. Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai said that due to severe air pollution in Delhi, a medical emergency has arisen but the Center is running away from its responsibility. The smog can be removed simply by artificial rain or wind, the Center has not taken any action on this so far on the request of Delhi government.
