New Delhi. England has bid farewell to its star fast bowler James Anderson with a victory. In the first Test match played in London, England defeated West Indies by an innings and 114 runs. With this victory, England’s team went ahead 1-0 in the 3 match series. Anderson bid farewell to his/her Test career after playing 188 matches. England won his/her farewell match on the third day itself. Jimmy took a total of 4 wickets in his/her farewell Test match. Anderson, who took 1 wicket in the first innings, took 3 wickets in the second innings.

James Anderson is third among the bowlers who have taken the most wickets in Tests. Sri Lankan legend Muttiah Muralitharan is first with 800 wickets while former Australian leg-spinner Shane Warne is second with 708 wickets. Anderson is the first fast bowler in the world to take the most wickets in Tests. Before Anderson came on the field on the third day, the players of both the teams gave him/her a guard of honour. In response, the Windies’ first innings collapsed for 121 runs. England got a lead of 250 runs in the first innings. The host team did not decide to bat in the second innings. They also sent the Windies in the second innings. The visiting Caribbean team could not do anything special in the second innings as well and collapsed for 136 runs. The Windies started the third day’s play with a score of 79/6.
