‘Emergency’ hits Gulati again, earns crores on the 10th day, but is sure to be a flop! ‘Azad”s breath stuck

On the occasion of Republic Day, while Akshay Kumar’s new release ‘Sky Force’ has soared at the box office, Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Emergency’ has also made a lot of noise. This film, which was earning in lakhs for three days, has earned in crores on the 10th day on Sunday. However, it is not going to be of much benefit, because this has become Kangana’s 11th flop film in 10 years. In 10 days, ‘Emergency’ has been able to earn only 28% of its budget, whereas now Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Deva’ will also be in the fray in front of it from January 31. On the other hand, Rasha Thadani and Aman Devgan’s debut film ‘Azad’ is already in a bad shape. It has proved to be a disaster. Kangana Ranaut has also directed ‘Emergency’, based on former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. She is also its co-producer. The budget of the film is Rs 60 crore, whereas it could only collect a net collection of Rs 16.70 crore at the Indian box office in 10 days.

According to sacnilk, ‘Emergency’ has got the benefit of holiday on Sunday and celebration of Republic Day. This film was earning lakhs since last Thursday. But on Sunday it did a business of Rs 1.15 crore. While the number of viewers in film shows had dropped to 7-8% in the past, on Sunday it was on an average 23%.

‘Sky Force’ earned 61.75 crores in the first weekend, ‘Deva’ will also be released next.

‘Emergency’ is the 11th flop film of Kangana Ranaut’s career. ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ released in 2015 was her last hit film. Since then, all his/her Hindi films released became flops and disasters at the box office. Only one ‘Manikarnika’ has been average. As far as the future of ‘Emergency’ is concerned, it is facing a tough competition from Akshay Kumar’s ‘Sky Force’, which has made a business of Rs 61.75 crore in the first weekend. Further, ‘Deva’ is also releasing on 31st January. In such a situation, the market of ‘Emergency’ is going to shrink.

On the other hand, the condition of director Abhishek Kapoor’s ‘Azad’, which was released along with ‘Emergency’, is even worse. This debut film of Rasha Thadani and Aman Devgan has become a disaster. Despite Sunday being a holiday and Republic Day, it has done a business of only Rs 20 lakh. The total collection of ‘Azad’ in 10 days is only Rs 7.26 crore. Whereas its budget is Rs 80 crore.
