In Form 17C, there is a details of votes per booth in each assembly constituency. he/she said that in response to this, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has launched a website, where it has uploaded Form 17C data for all assembly seats. In a post on ‘Ax’, Kejriwal said, ‘Each in this form There is complete details of the votes cast at the booth. Throughout the day, we will present the data for each assembly and each booth in a tabular format so that each voter can reach this information. ‘ Criticizing the Election Commission, Kejriwal said that it should have been his/her responsibility to ensure such transparency. Kejriwal said, “The Election Commission should have done this in the interest of transparency, but it is unfortunate that he/she is refusing to do so.”

What is Form 17C?

Voters figures are filled in two forms during the election under the Election Operations Act, 1961. The first form is called 17A. In which polling officers at every booth enter every details of every voter and also sign on the register. After this, Form 17C is filled at the end of voting. In Form 17C, there are information like polling station name and number, ID number of EVMs used, total number of qualified voters for that particular polling station and votes recorded in every voting machine.

Why Form 17C

In Form 17C, data is used to verify the results on the day of counting by matching with EVM calculations on behalf of candidates. If there is any flaw in the data, a petition can also be filed in the court. However, there are about 2,000 to 3,000 booths in a constituency. It is not possible to have an agent of a candidate at such a booth. To get a copy of Form 17C, a candidate will need to have 2,000 polling agents in his/her constituency. This will be a very difficult task.
