Elder brother remained unsold, younger one won, will play IPL for the first time

New Delhi. Sarfaraz Khan remained unsold in the IPL auction while his/her younger brother Musheer Khan got the contract for the first time. Musheer has been included by Punjab Kings. Sarfaraz Khan, who made his/her debut for India in the year 2024, was hopeful that he/she would make a comeback in the IPL but it could not happen. he/she was not bought by any franchise in the IPL auction held in Saudi Arabia. Sarfaraz Khan had kept his/her base price at Rs 75 lakh. But the surprising thing was that no team showed interest in buying him/her. he/she last played in the IPL in 2023 for Delhi Capitals.

Sarfaraz Khan was recently included in Team India in the home Test series against New Zealand. he/she played an inning of 150 runs in the Bangalore Test. No one bought him/her even in the accelerated round on the second day of the auction. On the other hand, Sarfaraz’s younger brother Musheer Khan, who performed brilliantly in the last domestic season, was bought by PBKS at his/her base price of Rs 30 lakh. Musheer plays with the status of an all-rounder. he/she will get to learn a lot from players like Shreyas Iyer, Arshdeep Singh and Yuzvendra Chahal in the Punjab team. he/she bats well with the bat and takes wickets with his/her left arm spin bowling.

Musheer Khan has not played any T20 match for his/her state yet. Both brothers play domestic cricket for Mumbai. he/she has been away from cricket for the last few months. Sarfaraz Khan played for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2023 whereas in 2015 he/she played for Royal Challengers Bangalore. he/she played 25 matches for RCB in three seasons but could not impress. After this, Sarfaraz played three seasons for Punjab Kings but he/she did not get many opportunities. he/she could play only 10 matches for Delhi Capitals in two seasons. he/she has 585 runs in his/her name in 50 matches.
