ED takes major action in NEET paper leak case, seizes FD worth Rs 10 lakh of an accused

New Delhi: ED has taken major action in the NEET paper leak case. ED has attached the fixed deposit of about 10 lakhs of an accused in the medical entrance exam question paper leak case. Actually, ED had started investigation under the Money Laundering Prevention Act on the basis of FIR filed by CBI. During the same time, summons were also issued to some accused.

Property of other accused can also be confiscated

During the investigation in the paper leak case, ED has identified the proceeds from crime. After which ED seized the FD of one of the accused. The investigation is still going on and soon the property of other accused can also be seized. Let us tell you that last month the Supreme Court refused to conduct the NEET exam again. The Supreme Court had told the National Testing Agency (NTA) that it cannot take a wrong step, cannot take a wrong decision and cannot amend it later.

CBI has arrested 40 people

The Supreme Court told the NTA that it should maintain the highest standards of security and reliability while conducting important competitive examinations. Let us tell you that till last month, the CBI had arrested 40 people. These include 15 people arrested earlier by the Bihar Police. The CBI also conducted searches at 58 places. In August, the CBI filed the first charge sheet against 13 people. The police had registered a case of paper leak on May 5. The CBI took over the investigation of the case on June 23.

CBI filed chargesheet

The CBI has filed a chargesheet against 13 people in the NEET paper leak case. This action took place on August 1, 2024. These people are accused under fraud, conspiracy and other sections. The CBI has registered a case against Nitish Kumar, Amit Anand, Jitendra, Raghvendu, Ashutosh Kumar, Roshan Kumar, Manish Prakash, Awadhesh Kumar, Akhilesh Kumar, Anurag Yadav, Shivanandan Kumar, Abhishek Kumar and Ayush Raj under sections 120-B, 201, 409, 380, 411, 420 and 109 of the IPC. This case is related to the paper leak of NEET exam, in which these people are accused of tampering. The CBI has filed this chargesheet after its investigation.
