PCB had made him/her the coach of limited overs cricket. he/she could not stay with the team for hardly 6 months and he/she finally decided to leave this post. Kirsten was unhappy with the attitude of the Pakistan Cricket Board and even expressed her displeasure through gestures.

Gary Kirsten has resigned from the post of head coach of Pakistan’s ODI and T20 teams with immediate effect. In April this year, the PCB had signed a two-year contract but decided to end it. Gary was able to play the role of coach of Pakistan team for just six months. he/she left the post just a week before the start of Pakistan’s ODI series in Australia.

The PCB has announced that Test coach Jason Gillespie will take up Kirsten’s role on the Australia tour, where six white-ball matches will be played. There were growing differences between Pakistan’s newly appointed coaches, Kirsten and Gillespie, and the PCB. The board has kept the team coach out of the selection. Only the selection committee had the right to select the team for any series, in which Gary was not included. Gillespie had expressed his/her displeasure over the events before the third Test against England in Rawalpindi.
