Duleep Trophy: Suryakumar Yadav suffers another setback, misses chance to return to Test team


New Delhi. Suryakumar Yadav’s hopes of returning to the Test team have suffered a major setback. Surya may be out of the opening match of the Duleep Trophy due to injury. The Duleep Trophy is considered an important tournament in terms of returning to the Indian Test team. Indian T20 team captain Suryakumar Yadav also recently said that he/she wants to return to the Test team.

Suryakumar Yadav suffered a hand injury on the third day of the match in the Buchi Babu tournament. According to Cricinfo, Surya did not come out to bat in the second innings against TNCA XI after this. According to the Mumbai team management, Surya’s injury is not serious, but caution is necessary. Surya has been advised to go to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) so that his/her injury can be monitored.

India has to play a Test series against Bangladesh from 19 September. After this, the Indian team will tour Australia, where it will play a series of 5 Test matches. But he/she will return to the Test team only if he/she performs well in the Duleep Trophy.

Suryakumar Yadav had earlier come into the limelight due to some of his/her pictures. Surya had visited Sri Ramakrishna Hospital in Coimbatore along with Shreyas Iyer and the players of the Mumbai team. These players had met children battling cancer.
