Shimla, Kullu, Mandi, Chamba and Sirmaur districts along with Kinnaur, Lahaul and Spiti have received heavy snowfall. However, despite bad weather and dangerous road conditions on the way to these snow-laden hill stations, tourists have not stopped coming here. According to news agency PTI, room booking in Shimla is at 70 per cent, which is more than 30 per cent compared to last December.

While tourists seemed happy with the fresh snowfall in the upper reaches of Himachal Pradesh, at least 223 roads, including three national highways, remained closed in the state, officials said on Tuesday. Around 223 roads, including the national highway between Attari and Leh, Sanj to Aut in Kullu district and Khab Sangam in Kinnaur district and Gramphu in Lahaul and Spiti district, were closed for traffic, PTI reported on Tuesday. To avoid cold, wear clothes in layering and keep a warm hat, gloves and muffler with you. Also, keep drinking water and eat warm food to hydrate yourself.
