Crown Prince of Dubai Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum announced that teachers with exceptional talent will be eligible for the Golden Visa. Through this visa, they will be allowed to come and contribute to the education sector of the emirate without local sponsorship. According to Khaleej Times, the aim of this program is to recognize and recognize the contribution of teachers in primary childhood centres, private schools and international higher education institutions.

This initiative of the government is going to greatly benefit those Indian teachers who are currently teaching in UAE. The teachers and professors teaching in many schools and colleges are Indians. Although their exact number is not known, many schools in the emirate offer education based on CBSE, ICSE and Kerala Board. The teachers teaching in these schools come from India. Every year many teachers from India also go to teach in the Emirates.

Sheikh Hamdan praised teachers for their important role in shaping the future. he/she said, “On the occasion of World Teachers Day, we have issued instructions to grant golden visas to teachers who have made outstanding contributions to the private education sector of Dubai.” Hamdan said, “We appreciate the efforts of teachers in providing children with the right education and instilling values ​​that create the leaders of tomorrow. You are key partners in shaping the future of Dubai.”

What is the eligibility criteria for Golden Visa?

According to Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), teachers eligible for Golden Visa can apply from October 15. Teachers who have exceptional academic achievements and a record of innovation in the education sector will qualify for the Golden Visa. They should also have an excellent track record in improving the education quality. Applicants must have an advanced degree such as a PhD, professional doctorate or master’s degree.

The Golden Visa is a Long Term Residence Visa, allowing foreign talents to live, work or study in the UAE with special benefits. Till now this visa was being given to investors, scientists, excellent students and human rights activists, but now it will be given to teachers also. The government has taken this step so that the educational quality can be increased and skill professionals can be attracted to the country.
