Dual Degree in DU: Now do two degrees simultaneously in Delhi University, know what is DU’s new program?

DU two degree programmes: The Academic Council (AC) of Delhi University has taken an important decision on Friday. According to this, now students can do one degree in regular mode in the colleges / departments of the university and the other degree in open and distance learning mode in the School of Open Learning of DU. There will also be terms and conditions for this. Apart from this, for the first time, the university has also decided to offer undergraduate programs in the Russian language.

The university said in a statement, ‘Under this, one degree can be done in regular mode in the colleges / departments of the university and the other degree can be done in open and distance learning mode in School of Open Learning, Campus of Open Learning, University of Delhi. The methods of doing two programs simultaneously will include various terms and conditions which are necessary to make this decision effective.’

Discussion on withdrawal of CUET and UGC-NET:

In this meeting, some AC members also discussed the withdrawal of CUET and UGC-NET in the background of the alleged paper leak. A member of the Academic Council said, ‘The university has not taken any stand on what it is considering doing in these cases.’

“During the Academic Council meeting, the BA (Hons) in Russian programme under the Department of Slavonic and Finno-Ugrian Studies, Department of Arts was approved on the basis of UGCF 2022,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, following the uproar over the proposal to include Manusmriti as a recommended reading material in the LLB syllabus and its subsequent rejection by the vice-chancellor, the Academic Council has decided to set up the B. R. Ambedkar Chair as soon as it gets approval from the University Grants Commission.
