DU Hostel Facility: New eco-friendly boys hostel in Hindu College, facilities like a luxurious hotel!

Bhoomi Pujan was performed on Friday for the construction of a boys hostel in Hindu College of Delhi University’s North Campus. NBCC is making this boys hostel completely eco-friendly. According to NBCC India Limited, the cost of building the hostel will be Rs 70 crore. The design, engineering, construction of this project will be done on EPC basis. Also, solar energy will be incorporated in it to achieve the minimum GRIHA 3 star rating for green building.

What will the new Hindu College Boys Hostel be like?

  • The area of ​​the new hostel will be approximately 1.97 lakh square feet.
  • It will have five floors with stilts.
  • The height of the building will be 23.37 meters.
  • After the construction of the hostel, the facilities of the campus will improve a lot. The capacity of the hostel will increase to 460 students.
  • It will have 230 rooms for students. It will include 33 executive rooms with attached toilets, 10 resident teachers rooms and a Three BeachHK Warden’s Residence.
  • A 700-seat auditorium will also be built in this project.

Hostel full of greenery including AC, modular kitchen

According to NBCC, the hostel will have modern facilities like air conditioning, laundry, modern kitchen and dining area. Double height terraces have been built on every floor to provide low height trees. A large part of the roof terrace will be dedicated to greenery. There will be a magnificent lawn in the middle of the building. Trees will also be planted in the surrounding outdoor area. Large fountains will be installed in it. This will control cooling and pollution. There will also be solar panels and green roofs.

This hostel is set to become the cornerstone in the ongoing development of Hindu College. DU Vice Chancellor Professor Yogesh Singh, Registrar Dr Vikas Gupta, Hindu College Principal Professor Anuj Srivastava, NBCC MD and Chairman KP Mahadevaswamy, Hindu Education Trust Chairman Ashwini Shankar, NBCC (Project) Director Salim Ahmed and senior officials of both the organizations were present at the bhoomi pujan.
